Catalinas Rio is at the center of a major revitalization project in Buenos Aires. Located in an underutilized railyard along the Rio de la Plata, the building is the focal point of the city's Catalinas Norte II master plan. This plan involves a 30,000-square-meter redevelopment that will relocate highways and train tracks away from the streets and transform the waterfront into a lively, pedestrian-friendly area. The ground level will offer numerous amenities and be open to the public; the building will be unlike any previous office tower, representing a new vision for workplace design. Catalinas Rio is conceived as a vertical campus, with two trapezoidal towers, rising 29 and 22 floors, and connected by a series of multistory sky bridges. The site's vision includes a proposed pedestrian bridge that will improve the connection further.
